Overview
David L. Durán was named an associate attorney at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2024 after working as a law clerk since 2022. He concentrates his legal practice in cases concerning personal injury, medical negligence, wrongful death, and catastrophic injuries.
Throughout his time with the firm, Mr. Duran has obtained a number of noteworthy verdicts and settlements for her clients, including a $7 million medical malpractice settlement in 2025.
While working as a law clerk at the firm, Mr. Durán assisted a trial team that won a record-breaking $363 million jury verdict in the first trial against medical sterilization plant Sterigenics. He also worked on a medical negligence case that resulted in a $75 million verdict for the family of a young girl who sustained permanent injuries at birth.
Before working at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, Mr. Durán served as a student extern for the Honorable Alison C. Conlon, Cook County Circuit Judge in the Chancery Division.
Mr. Durán received his law degree cum laude from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. During law school, he served as a teaching assistant for three classes and served on the Executive Board for the First-Generation Law Student Association. He was also a Chicago-Kent’s nationally recognized Moot Court Honor Society member and won CALI awards in Trial Advocacy I and II.
In recognition of his outstanding work during law school, Mr. Durán was inducted into the Bar & Gavel Society, an exclusive honors society that extends invitations to only a small percentage of graduating students who have demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to the law, community, and legal profession.
Mr. Durán graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology and minored in psychology and English.
Mr. Durán belongs to several national, state, and local legal organizations, including the American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
In his free time, Mr. Durán enjoys cooking New Mexican cuisine, reading, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
