Throughout his career, Mr. Beck has directed all phases of litigation, including discovery, expert witness preparation, dispositive and evidentiary motion practice, and trial presentation. As a Supervising Assistant Corporation Counsel in the City of Chicago Department of Law’s Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division, Mr. Beck served as lead counsel on some of the City’s most complex and high-stakes cases. In this role, he managed a substantial docket of claims while supervising and mentoring junior attorneys, reviewing motions and pleadings, and guiding case strategy and settlement evaluation.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Beck represented individual police officers and municipal entities in complex civil rights and tort litigation and prosecuted building code enforcement actions on behalf of the City of Chicago. This background provided a strong foundation in trial advocacy and litigation management that now informs his practice at Clifford Law Offices.

Mr. Beck earned his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, where he participated in the Bluhm Legal Clinic and the Center on Wrongful Convictions. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Indiana University Bloomington. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is active in professional legal organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

Outside of his practice, Mr. Beck enjoys golfing, playing chess, attending Chicago Cubs games, and spending time with his wife and triplet daughters.
