Pavich Law Group, P.C.
Chicago Medical Malpractice Lawyer
Overview
Hannah Sweeney joined Pavich Law Group, P.C. nearly a decade ago. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked at PLG as a paralegal while earning her juris doctor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. As Hannah has developed her career, specializing in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal/catastrophic injury, she has devoted herself to thorough, complex, and thoughtful evaluation of her clients' medical treatments, consultations, procedures, and diagnoses. The connections between medicine and the law are crucial to building her multifaceted practice from initial assessment all the way through aggressive litigation.
Hannah works in tandem with her mentor and PLG managing partner, Anastasia Pavich, to commit the full resources of the firm to every case accepted. She has dedicated her career as a trial attorney to protecting, advocating, and representing those who have suffered from another's negligence. Hannah brings a combination of empathy and personalized attention to detail to her work, and utilizes her crucial understanding of the complexity of the medical, legal, and insurance systems. She also works directly with PLG staff physicians and consulting experts to review, analyze, and interpret medical records and facts to determine how best to prosecute claims. Hannah believes that carefully and respectfully building relationships with clients allows her to be a potent advocate and fosters the trust needed to achieve success on their behalf. This advocacy, facilitated through personal connections with her clients, is the most gratifying element of her profession.
In addition to her Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Advocacy from Loyola University School of Law, Hannah holds a Certificate of Mediation and has successfully mediated numerous cases, understanding that positions and motives are crucial to reaching settlement outside of trial. Hannah is licensed and admitted to practice in Illinois and Indiana and maintains many memberships in professional and civic organizations, including the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar Associations; the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association; the American Association for Justice; the Indiana State Bar Association; and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
