In his first trial with the firm, Mr. Northcutt played a key role in securing a $363 million jury verdict for a woman who developed breast cancer after being exposed to toxic emissions from a medical device sterilization plant in Willowbrook, Illinois. This landmark case resulted in the largest individual plaintiff jury verdict in Illinois history, including $38 million in compensatory damages and $325 million in punitive damages. For his work on the case, Mr. Northcutt received the 2023 Trial Lawyer Excellence Award from Law Bulletin Media.
Legal Background & Trial Experience:
A former Cook County prosecutor and law enforcement officer, Mr. Northcutt brings decades of legal experience and trial insight to every case. He has tried hundreds of cases before judges and juries, including one of the first fully remote bench trials in Illinois, conducted entirely via Zoom. His work extends from trial courts to the Illinois Supreme Court, including handling appellate matters and regulatory proceedings for lawyers and judges.
