Matthew L. Williams concentrates on medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and premises liability. He joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2003 and was named a partner in 2009.
In recognition of his outstanding legal work, Super Lawyers has recognized Mr. Williams as one of the Top 100 lawyers in Illinois every year since 2019. Additionally, he has been honored by Best Lawyers in America in the field of Personal Injury Litigation every year since 2018. During his time with the firm, Mr. Williams has obtained more than $400 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his catastrophically injured clients, including:
- A $75.8 million jury verdict for a young girl who suffered a brain injury and severe physical injuries at birth.
- A $50.3 million jury verdict for a boy who suffered a serious brain injury at birth.
- A $20.6 million settlement for a man who was left permanently disabled due to a delay in diagnosis and treatment of a ruptured common iliac aneurysm.
- An $18.5 million settlement on behalf of a child who suffered serious brain injury due to a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of meningitis.
- A $17 million settlement in a birth injury case
- A $15.35 million settlement in a birth injury case
- A $14.8 million settlement on behalf of a woman who was left permanently blind in both eyes due to a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of a clot in her brain.
- A $10 million settlement for a woman who developed terminal cancer due to negligence by her treating physician.
Mr. Williams has extensive experience and success litigating cases throughout Illinois and has argued a case before the Illinois Supreme Court.
Mr. Williams is a member of many local and national bar associations, including Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the DePaul University College of Law Dean’s Council.
