Overview
Susan Breier is a healthcare attorney with 30 years of compliance, regulatory, and risk management experience. She provides corporate counsel, compliance, and risk management services to hospitals, medical clinics, physicians, and allied practitioners.
Ms. Breier began her career working for Rush North Shore and Rush University as a Risk Manager. Later, she oversaw Risk Management for Chicago Osteopathic System (now known as Midwestern University), Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Advocate Medical Clinics and West Suburban Medical Center. While working in this capacity she oversaw and provided guidance to the medical centers, medical clinics, rehabilitation facilities, skilled care units, and psychiatry departments. Also, during this tenure she managed all hospital and general liability claims, lawsuits, and patient complaints/grievances. She continues to consult on all regulatory, medical staff, policies, and other risk management issues. She also manages claims and lawsuits for hospitals and healthcare providers which includes setting reserves and managing as self-insured retention or trusts.
