PERSONAL BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION
Michael C. Deutsch (Mike) grew up in Hampshire, Illinois. He currently resides in Woodstock, Illinois with his wife, Vicki, and his three children, Crystal, Ashley and Brandon.A sports enthusiast, Mike has been active in coaching local youth sports leagues.
Mike graduated from Hampshire High School in 1972. He graduated from Bradley University in 1976 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He received his Certified Public Accountant Certificate in 1979. He received a juris doctor degree from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois, in 1982 and received an advanced legal masters degree (LLM) in taxation from The John Marshall Law School in 1991.
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS AND EXPERIENCE
Mike has been a practicing attorney since 1982. He joined Brady & Jensen as an associate in November, 1988, and was promoted to partner in 1991. Mike has been a frequent speaker for various professional and civic organizations on estate planning topics. He was an instructor for Elgin Community College's paralegal program.
Mike has over 20 years of experience in representing businesses and individuals. He regularly advises business owners in connection with (1) establishing an appropriate business entity, and (2) dealing with various operational issues. Mike has had extensive experience negotiating and closing the sale and acquisition of numerous businesses. He also advises individuals and business owners with respect to estate planning and estate administration matters.
