Scott Orzoff has been with Orzoff Law Offices since graduating law school in 2004.
He focuses his practice on obtaining favorable settlements for injured individuals in both personal injury lawsuits and workers’ compensation claims.
He has over 20 years of experience in litigation. He is the firm’s primary legal researcher and serves as its pretrial civil procedure specialist. Mr. Orzoff excels in legal writing and has had several of his briefs published online by Court Briefs Law Bulletin.
Mr. Orzoff was born in Highland Park, Illinois in 1974 and has lived in the Chicagoland area for his entire life. He then went on to graduate with a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University Law School in 2004. He went on to have a successful, four year career in the minor leagues as a defenseman. Aside from Amarillo, he also played for the Arkansas Glaciercats and Lake Charles Ice Pirates.

He encourages his clients to ask questions and in turn takes the time to make sure that each client is not only satisfied with the end result but that they also understand each step along the way.
Aside from practicing law, Mr. Orzoff is a husband and father of two young boys. He enjoys spending time with his sons and still remains actively involved with his other passion, hockey. How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
