John A. Mennie is a Partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., where he represents individuals and families affected by catastrophic personal injuries, medical negligence, wrongful death, and mass tort matters. Since joining the firm in 2014 and becoming a Partner in 2016, Mr. Mennie has recovered more than $250 million on behalf of injured individuals and grieving families throughout Illinois.

Mr. Mennie has achieved significant results in catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases, including:

• $21 million settlement – Secured in 2026 for a newborn who suffered a permanent brain injury caused by medical negligence at birth.
• $52 million jury verdict – Obtained as part of a trial team for the family of an 88-year-old man who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Stockton, Illinois. The crash also left his adult son seriously injured.
• $18.5 million settlement – Secured for a child who suffered a severe brain injury after a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of meningitis.
• $1.6 million wrongful death verdict – Obtained in his first trial with Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard. The verdict was the highest recorded in Stephenson County and earned Mr. Mennie a Trial Lawyer Excellence Award from Law Bulletin Media.

He earned his law degree cum laude from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2012. He also graduated cum laude from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, in 2007.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Mennie enjoys golfing, reading, baking, and cooking.
