Alissa Carter Verson is a Director in the Franchise Law Practice Group. She focuses her practice on franchise law and related services, representing franchisors and subfranchisors in all 50 states and Illinois franchisees.
Alissa represents franchisors at all stages of growth, from start-up franchisors establishing franchise systems, to emerging franchisors, to established franchisors with small to large franchise systems. Alissa believes in providing efficient, thorough, and friendly service, and honest and direct communication.
Alissa is skilled at advising and counseling franchisor clients on the structuring of complex franchise systems, franchisee relationship matters, risk management, and compliance with federal and state franchise registration and disclosure laws and state relationship laws. The services Alissa provides to franchisors include drafting Franchise Disclosure Documents, Franchise Agreements, Multi-Unit Development Agreements, and other agreements related to franchise systems.
Alissa's franchise law interests also include reviewing Franchise Disclosure Documents and Franchise Agreements for prospective Franchisees, conducting Franchise Law Compliance Training for her franchisor clients, and assisting franchisors in engaging local counsel for international expansion.
Alissa also offers ancillary services to her franchise clients, including trademark registration and maintenance, commercial lease review, and the purchase and sale of franchised businesses.
Alissa comes to us most recently from the Wheaton franchise law firm of Carter & Tani where she had 7 years of experience in franchise law, representing franchisors, subfranchisors, and franchisees.
Outside of work, Alissa enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, parents, and family pets. She enjoys camping, biking and hiking, reading, and traveling the world. Since 2021, she has served her community as a Plan Commissioner for the Village of Lombard Plan Commission.
