Attorney Information

Overview

Amina Saeed is a Director at Huck Bouma, where she focuses her practice on estate, tax, and charitable planning; asset protection; estate and trust administration; and faith-based estate planning. She has extensive experience advising high-net-worth families and business owners on sophisticated wealth transfer strategies, business succession, and philanthropic giving—ensuring that each plan aligns with both immediate needs and long-term goals.

Prior to joining Huck Bouma, Amina held senior roles in both the legal and financial sectors. She served as Senior Trust Advisor and Senior Vice President at The Northern Trust Company, where she provided fiduciary services and counsel on wealth transfer planning. She also founded and led her own law firm with a focus on estate, tax, charitable, and faith-based estate planning, and served as Of Counsel at the Law Office of Lynda L. Sands, a firm dedicated to sophisticated charitable gift planning strategies.

Amina is a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG), certified through the University of California, Long Beach. She is a frequent speaker on the legal aspects of charitable gift planning and has trained nonprofit organizations in developing and sustaining planned giving programs. Earlier in her career, Amina served as the director of a regional nonprofit organization, bringing a unique perspective to her philanthropic advisory work.

Amina currently serves on the Trusts & Estates Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association. She is also a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago and a founding member of the Muslim Bar Association of Chicago.

In her spare time, Amina, along with her husband and four children, is on a mission to visit every U.S. national park. She has hiked the Grand Canyon, been chased by a bison in South Dakota, found herself walking alongside a bear in the Canadian Rockies while five months pregnant, and road-tripped across Europe and Asia. If you have any ideas for her next adventure, Amina would love to hear from you.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
