Placed a freeze on my checking account without any court records showing that they could do this. This is extortion by any and all legal definitions. I have contacted my attorney and we are filing a lawsuit against them. By doing this, they've broken multiple federal laws, including banking laws. I suggest they answer their emails and phone calls. We will settle out of court, but the longer they have the freeze, the more it's going to cost them in fines as well. Don't let them push you around. Immediately contact an attorney and file suit against them if they do this to you. They know they are not legally able to do so and yet they violate the law to try and intimidate you into settling with them. Fight back!

Dudes a fruit. Harassment and extortion is all they know. Must have got licenses from a cereal box. I'll be looking to sue this firm. I wouldn't recommend to a piece of trash

Even though they are a debt collector, they are decent people to deal with. They were very willing to help me get my judgement paid off with a payment plan that I could actually afford. If anyone ever had to deal with them just talk to them and they will help however they can.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
