Thea R. Kumar joined Clendening Johnson & Bohrer P.C. in April of 2026 as a litigation associate. Thea received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice and East Asian Studies from the State University of New York, Albany in 2014, and her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2017.

Thea was admitted to the New York State bar in 2017 and began working for a small firm in New York City focusing on Immigration and Family Law. In 2019, Thea continued her Family Law work as an Agency Attorney for the City of New York in their Human Resources Administration Office of Child Support Services.

Thea was admitted to the Indiana State bar in 2022. In 2024, Thea left the City of New York and moved to Indiana to begin transactional law work for an Indiana based startup, Ateios Systems. After assisting Ateios Systems in securing their Series A funding in 2026, Thea decided to return to litigation.
