Stephen Lai - Danville, IN

Steve is a Family Law Associate Attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate some of the most difficult and emotionally challenging times. As a lifelong Hoosier, Steve is deeply committed to serving the Indiana community and providing compassionate, thoughtful, and legal representation to those in need.

Throughout Law School, Steve sought out opportunities to serve the community and gain experience advocating for Hoosiers. He served as a Guardian ad Litem, an ICLEO Summer Law Clerk with the Indiana Court of Appeals (Indian CLEO Fellow, 2007), and a Law Clerk with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. Steve was also recognized by the Indiana School of Law – Indianapolis for his pro bono service in the area of Family Law.

These experiences reinforced Steve’s belief that effective Family Law representation requires more than knowledge of the Law. It requires listening to clients, truly understanding the unique circumstances of each family, and providing steady guidance when emotions are understandably high. He approaches each situation with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to helping clients make informed decisions about their future and the future of their families.

Before attending Law School, Steve earned a degree in Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business – Bloomington. He brings the analytical and problem-solving skills developed through that background to the practice of Family Law.

Above all, Steve is here to help clients though the toughest of times. Whether dealing with divorce, child custody, or another Family Law matter, he is committed to providing clients with the advocacy, guidance, and support they need to move forward.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys staying active. Hikes with his wife (Marcy) and their dogs (Tupac and Aaliah), and weight training/running/Muay Thai with his son (Jax) are among his favorite activities.
