Overview

Mr. Balczo was born in Northwest Indiana and graduated from Highland High School in 2012. In high school, he was active in Key Club, a community service organization that provided volunteers for beach cleanups and monthly dances for children with disabilities.

Mr. Balczo attended college at Valparaiso University where he graduated with double major in history and political science in 2016. In addition to academics, he was a contributor to the school newspaper and organized a food drive for workers on strike at BP Whiting Refinery in 2015. Mr. Balczo graduated from Valparaiso University Law School in 2019 and was admitted to the Indiana Bar and United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in 2020.

Mr. Balczo is enthusiastic about representing and counseling clients. He focuses primarily on Estate Planning, Probate and Guardianships. He also has experience in handling Personal Injury cases. In fact, Mr. Balczo has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in Personal Injury cases, Personal Representatives in Probate cases, and Guardians in Guardianship appointment cases. Mr. Balczo also worked as an assistant counsel for the City of Lake Station Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Frequently, Mr. Balczo has served as a probate commissioner pro tempore in the Lake Circuit Court.

Outside of work, Mr. Balczo is an avid reader and enjoys visiting museums. He is the Scholarship Director and Board member of the Highland chapter of Kiwanis International, a community service organization aimed at assisting young people and others in need.
