    Hired Attorney 2024-2025
My case was mishandled, neglected, had little to no communication. She builds this hype and excitement of what potentially can be done with your case, however, delivered on nothing. I was billed for services that were improperly done or promised they would be done and were never completed. Mrs. Jameson billed me for discussions of motions we agreed would be filed and they were never filed. We had several discussions about steps we would proceed with and those never happened. Her staff guaranteed several times on phone calls and emails she would follow-up with me, however, failed to do so. Numerous times she claimed she was too sick to handle my case, yet had time to take a vacation to Florida during her sick phases. She admitted several times during our discussion she was “unprepared.” She filed a motion approximately two days before an event of which she was given due notice of that event. There was serious flaws also in her billing practices and procedures. She was incredibly unorganized and her office was a disaster. She was constantly absent minded and acted clueless about my case at times. Her communication was terrible and my case was pretty much left abandoned. Phone calls, text messages, and emails were never returned. She provided very little if no updates unless prompted regarding my case. Her staff was very rude and condescending during the management of my case. Nobody was thorough in their work including her. I was not provided certain copies with opposing counsel’s filings or copies of our filings. Her staff never had any idea of what Mrs. Jameson was doing and at times I did not know the job titles of her staff. Sometimes, I was dealing with an intern, an assistant, and a paralegal, of which I never really knew who was who. I was left guessing most of the time on the status of my case and if she had even looked at it. Upon termination of her services her paralegal refused to give me my file and documents, however, after a few days they did give me most of it, however, not the emails within the portal. I would highly not recommend her unless you want to be left in a state of perpetual confusion and chaos.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
