This Atty is dishonest and bills multiple times for the same item and causes unnecessary hearings on the same issue upping her bills. Can provide proof of her billing statement if you would like to see evidence. She lies that her client paid bills when she doesn't verify it to be true and tries to bully you into doing nothing about it bc its costing the estate $1000 to simply get reimbursed $46 for a lawn bill I paid of my Father's and have asked for a minimum of 7 or 8 times. Proof if you’d like. She represents my sister made Guardian over my Father in a wrongful Guardianship without proper medical evidence declaring him incapacitated. It actually says He has partial capacity. Proof of this if you need to see. The Guardian was kicked out of the Will and now exploiting our Father taught to change his locks and not give him a key by this Atty. My father is very scared and has bad anxiety of my sister's husband who she brings there against his wishes. Guardian tried changing the Will and this Atty does nothing. Proof of these items if requested. Most fire dishonest clients but not this Atty. She gets paid MORE for being dishonest! She allows the Guardian to bill our Dad without any proof or oversight of services rendered for things like calls and visits with him or simple cleaning to the tune of $180/week and organizing or a call on his behalf. Things I do for free for a parent! This Guardianship is NOT conserving the estate money but rather costing him 5 x what he used to pay with both the corrupt Atty and now an unprofessional Guardian billing whatever they want and there is no one in the system who oversees this. Exploitation at its finest!! He files his own taxes!! Proof of this! He lives alone. This Atty also is incompetent and requested I pay Dad's Homeowners and property taxes for a home not in my name. Proof as its on the Motion she filed. She used profanity with me on the phn witnessed by my boyfriend. She ignored the threat my sister made bullying Dad that she'd put him in a nursing home for wanting to talk to me. On audio as proof! Never ever ever use Mary Hoeller! Serious elder abuse and financial exploitation with her!!P

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
