Attorney Information
Overview
A seasoned employment law and civil litigation attorney in the Indianapolis area, Jason has practiced law since 2003. He's handled multiple federal injury trials in the Northern and Southern District of Indiana Courts and represented clients at the EEOC, MSPB, SEAC and ICRC, as well as Indiana State Courts, local government bodies and boards.
He's a DePauw University graduate, with a degree in Philosophy, who grew up in New Castle, Indiana. A third generation small business owner, he follows in his father and grandfather's footsteps. Jason lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Jill, and his three children.
After earning his law degree at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Jason spent the first seven years of his career as an attorney at Hostetter & O'Hara in Brownsburg, practicing general civil litigation before federal and state courts. At John H. Haskin & Associates (formerly Haskin & LaRue), Jason focused his practice exclusively on employment and discrimination law.
You will not meet a bigger Indianapolis Colts fanatic, with his love for Hoosier basketball ticking in at a close second. Jason also enjoys running, regularly participating in local marathons and half marathons, and joins his family in the Drumstick Dash every year. Aside from his devotion to the Horse (and his wife and kids, of course) Jason enjoys jamming out to live music and watching Quentin Tarantino movies.

Hired Attorney 2021If I could give six stars on each I would. I was in a difficult situation when I visited with Jason and he was able to listen with empathy and help determine a plan forward. My family and I very grateful for Jason’s expertise and handling of our case.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
