Overview
Joe is a trial lawyer, who focuses his practice on representing the rights of the physically and economically injured. He recently provided the closing arguments after a six-week jury trial against State Farm, resulting in a $14.5 million verdict for his client. Earlier this year, Joe was lead trial counsel in a breach of contract case that resulted in a $230,000.00 jury verdict. He also recently recovered $1.2 million for a client that was severely injured by a defective product. Joe handles all types of trial work, ranging anywhere from personal injury to complex business disputes to products liability.
Joe also devotes a portion of his practice to protecting consumers through statewide and nationwide class action litigation. He has experience in all stages of class action litigation, maintaining a strong focus on the class certification procedure. Joe has successfully handled all aspects of class certification, including the briefing, arguing, and obtaining of class certification in the trial court, and protecting a successful class certification decision in the Court of Appeals and state Supreme Court.
Joe received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was awarded the Tennessee Bar Association’s Access to Justice Law Student of the Year in 2004. He was honored with selection to the Indiana Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars in both 2010, 2011 and 2013, a designation that recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state.
Joe is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, and the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, and the Fifth and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
