Overview
Robert W. Geddes is a partner and has been with the Firm since 1965. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1956 and his law degree from Indiana University in 1962.
Mr. Geddes is a member of the Indiana State and Indianapolis Bar Associations. He is a former member of the Board of Managers of the Indianapolis Bar Association and a member of the State Supreme Court's Character and Fitness Committee. Mr. Geddes is also a former member of the State Judicial Nominating & Qualification Committee; former President of the Indianapolis Athletic Club; former Vice-President of the Indianapolis Bar Association and former President of the Indianapolis Lawyers' Club.
Mr. Geddes was Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana from 1962-1965 and part-time United States Magistrate from 1965 - 1970. He has been a participant and contributing author of numerous continuing education seminars.
Mr. Geddes' professional experiences have consisted primarily of representing plaintiffs and defendants in most all areas of general litigation, including cases involving fires, explosions, railroad crossing accidents, personal injury matters, securities fraud, products liability, white collar crime and other tort claims. He has had appellate experience before the Indiana Supreme Court, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and has argued before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Geddes is also a certified mediator with extensive experience mediating and arbitrating various disputes.
Mr. Geddes is married and the father of five children. He enjoys all sports and, in particular, golf and squash.
