Overview
Reese Sobol brings empathy and a passion for helping people to his practice at Garau & Germano. Reese has long been interested in a career as a plaintiff's attorney and will work tirelessly to deliver each of his clients the best possible outcome.
With deep midwestern roots, Reese grew up in a small town in Illinois. He attended Illinois Wesleyan University for his undergraduate studies, where he played four years of football and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Financial Services, cum laude. Reese later obtained his legal education from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. He graduated magna cum laude in 2021 and was selected as a member of the Maurer Chapter of the Order of the Coif.
After graduating law school, Reese clerked for the Honorable James Patrick Hanlon on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. In this role, Reese worked on a wide variety of criminal and civil matters at every stage of litigation from the filing of a complaint through trial. This experience gave him a keen and unique insight on the litigation process from the perspective of the court and equipped him with the skills necessary to effectively represent clients in state and federal court. Reese is licensed to practice in Illinois and Indiana and is eager to take on clients wherever help is needed.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
