Consulted Law firm 2025My daughter was being bullied for months. She was attacked twice before I took it to court and tried everything legally. The mother of the bully tried fighting me, falsely accused me of trying to run her over, instructed her daughter to go to school and attack my daughter and much more. We were served to be at court by the party after we filed for a EPO. The woman started lying and trying to get us in trouble. We went to court and Judge Wilder said that we were being overly sensitive. My daughter was injured. Her glasses were also broken during this altercation. I even lost my job behind it. He did not look at evidence. He only looked at the video that the other party provided to see if I tried running her over but the video proved that I was innocent. He also stated "I dont know why the police officers tell people to get a EPO. You can't get an protection order unless you were in a relationship." I have never heard of that. Here it is 6 months later from the first incident, 4 months later from the hearing. My daughter was ATTACKED AGAIN. The bully choked my daughter and started punching her in the face. Yes, my daughter defended herself but was still charged with battery. I am having to change my daughter school which puts me in a bind because my son is disabled and I have to be home to get him on and off the bus, pick her up from another school, and try to make it home in time to get my 5th grader off of the bus . YOU FAILED MY DAUGHTER! I AM TAKING THIS TO SUPREME COURT. The system does not care until a child has committed suicide from bullying, harming someone else from being bullied or one is in jail.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
