Overview

Jason Jackson is the founding partner of Defend Indiana and is a lifelong Hoosier. For over two decades Jason has dedicated his career to serving clients throughout central Indiana, using his skills in negotiation and courtroom advocacy to get the best possible outcomes for his clients.

Jason grew up in Frankfort, Indiana and attended Frankfurt High School where he served as class president. Jason went on to graduate with honors Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa in 1997 from nearby Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, specifically selecting Wabash for the school’s outstanding reputation in the legal community. Jason prepared for his legal career by earning honors as the top advocate in the Moot Court competition and received the prestigious David Peck Jr award for promise in the study of law

Jason studied law at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. Upon graduation and passing the Indiana Bar in 2000, Jason accepted a position with Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP - the sixth largest professional services firm in the world at the time. Missing the courtroom, Jason later accepted a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Don Ash of Rutherford County, Tennessee and the Tennessee Court of Appeals. After returning to Indiana, Jason served as an associate with Ryan, Moore, Cook & Hunter in Frankfort, Indiana before forming a solo criminal defense practice in Noblesville, Indiana in 2002.

Prior to founding Defend Indiana, Jason enjoyed a successful solo practice. He maintains two brick-and-mortar offices (Noblesville & Lafayette) and has over 135 FIVE STAR Google reviews.

Jason lives in Noblesville with his wife Kelly, and daughter Madison.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
