THIS WASTE OF A HUMAN BEING IS A THIEVING LIEING TRASHY BROKE BANKRUPTCY LAWYER WHO PREYS ON PEOPLE MAKING IT IN LIFE! HIS SUPER THIRSTY DOG FLESH PULLED UP A 22 YEAR OLD CASE WHERE MY PURSE WAS STOLEN. I filed a police report and all was taken care of then. But he dug it up and rehashed it to fit his narrative in order to rob me and my 4 children. JONATHAN R O 'HARA YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR KARMA FOR THIS AS WELL AS YOUR JUST DO. YOU DID NOT GIVE ANY OPPORTUNITY TO DEFEND MYSELF. YOU SENT THIS LETTER DIRECTLY TO MY EMPLOYER YOU SNAKE IN THE GRASS.

I have no idea where he come. He sends me a letter of something almost 20 years again. Treating to seize my vehicle. I have no idea or can't recall the debt. But after 24 years. Isn't there a statue of limitations

I was doing my sister a solid, and paying for her debt via credit-card. First called, went straight to voicemail, so I left a message with my name and number. He called back a few hours later, and I told him I wanted to pay off my sister's debt using my credit card. So, over the phone, I gave him information and I know I gave all the correct information. He said it didn't go through. So, we tried it again. I repeated the information for him and had him repeat it back to me. It didn't go through again. So I had to pull out another credit card, one I haven't used in a while because I do, myself, dislike accruing debt unless absolutely necessary and that went through. He then asked for my phone number, which he already had because he CALLED ME, but I obliged and gave it to him and he told me he was going to send me the receipt. So, while waiting for the receipt to be sent to me, I call my original credit card company and asked why the charge was declined. They informed me that someone incorrectly entered the information, which was him, not me, the expiration date/three digit code on the back. He was so incapacitant that even after me saying the correct information to him not once, but twice, still put the information in wrong. By this time, 20 or 30 minutes had gone by and I had still not received the receipt. I then called him back and again was sent to voicemail and I left a message saying that I had called my first credit card company and that you,he, had entered the information incorrectly twice which forced me to have to use another card I only use in emergencies! Later, he called back, but I was on the phone with someone, so I let it go to voicemail. Not only did he not leave a voicemail, but I still have not received the receipt and I know the card that went through had the charge on it. I am going to call back again today and demand, like debt collectors do, my receipt again! This man was very unprofessional, in my opinion, with how he deals with payments. I cannot speak for him as an attorney, but as a businessperson. he seems very unprofessional when it comes to a person with debt collecting correct information so that they can actually pay the debt. Once I get the receipt, I will be so glad I do not have to deal with him again.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
