Overview

Barbara Wallace joined Betty, Neuman & NcMahon, P.L.C. in October 2019 as a Partner. Barb graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and the University of Iowa College of Law. During law school, Barb worked as a prosecuting intern for the Scott County Attorneys Office. After law school, she worked as an Assistant County Attorney in Linn County, Iowa before going to work for a law firm in Rock Island, Illinois first as an Associate and later as a Partner. She worked for an Iowa law firm for 2 years before she started her own law firm where she worked until joining the Betty law firm.

Barb's practice is primarily limited to Scott County, Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois with the exception of mediation. Barb has concentrated her practice in the area of family law and has also practiced in criminal law and traffic defense since 1997. She completed ACR Nationally Approved 40-hour Family Law Mediation Training in April 2008 and has since maintained a successful mediation practice as well. She is a Court Approved Mediator for Child Custody Cases for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. Barb has been a member of the Iowa State Bar & Scott County Bar Associations since 1997 and the Rock Island County Bar Association since 2016. She served as a member of the Scott County Bar Executive Council in 2003 and has served as a member of the Fee Dispute Committee since 2012. Barb served as a member of the 7th Judicial District of Iowa's Mediation Committee in 2011 and Informal Family Law Trial Pilot Project Committee from 2016-2017. She also served as a member of the Iowa Supreme Court Family Law Case Processing Reform Task Force ADR Work Group from 2015-2016.

Barb lives in Davenport, IA with her husband Chris and their two daughters, where she volunteers in the community and enjoys boating, camping, traveling and scuba diving.
