Hired Attorney 2024-2026I am the principal of Victory Cleaning Systems, Inc., a small business that retained WM Law as Chapter 11 Subchapter V counsel in the Western District of Missouri. The court's order authorizing the firm's employment named five attorneys, including Mr. Graham, as our authorized counsel of record (In re Victory Cleaning Systems, Inc., W.D. Mo. Bankr., Doc 18, dated February 5, 2024). Mr. Graham never sent me a substantive communication in this case. He did not appear at the April 15, 2026 hearing on contested issues in the firm's representation. When the firm's representation status became contested in writing, nothing came from him. In April 2026 I sent the firm a litigation-hold and preservation letter. Mr. Graham was on the recipient list. Three days later I sent a written demand for the complete client file, with a deadline that has now passed. Mr. Graham received that demand by certified mail as a directly-named recipient. Items requested in that letter remain undelivered as of the date of this review. Mr. Graham's online bio describes his practice as helping small businesses and individuals who need "an understanding and conscientious bankruptcy attorney to help navigate through a difficult time," and frames his favorite part of the work as "helping clients find hope amid a desperate situation through effective and thoughtful counsel." Missouri Rule of Professional Conduct on the termination of representation requires return of a former client's file upon termination. Each day of non-delivery is a fresh day of non-compliance. As of this review he has produced nothing. His online profile lists his firm as "Law Offices of Ryan Michael Graham" in Overland Park, Kansas. The representation of Victory Cleaning Systems was undertaken under WM Law's letterhead per the court's employment order; a prospective client cross-checking should pull both. Pull the docket on CourtListener before signing any retainer with this attorney or his firm. Search the case caption "In re Victory Cleaning Systems."

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
