Erica’s History
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from South Dakota State University, Erica attended the University of South Dakota School of Law, graduating with honors in 2019. During law school, she published two articles in the South Dakota Law Review addressing criminal law issues, reflecting her early commitment to criminal defense. Prior to joining the McConnell Law Firm, P.A. in 2022, Erica built extensive experience in the public sector, handling hundreds of cases at the Minnehaha County Public Advocate’s Office in South Dakota, ranging from misdemeanor traffic offenses to murder cases. After relocating to Kansas, she continued her work in criminal defense at the Sedgwick County Public Defender’s Office before transitioning to private practice.
