Overview
Mr. Sidebottom maintains a diverse general practice in Kentucky and Ohio. Mr. Sidebottom's practice emphasizes litigation as he frequently represents public and private employees on various employment issues. However, Mr. Sidebottom has litigated many unique and complex areas of law all the way through to successful Jury verdicts. While he has achieved positive jury results at Trial, Mr. Sidebottom has built a reputation statewide in negotiating excellent settlements on behalf of his clients before the necessity of a Trial. Mr. Sidebottom has been involved in many high profile cases that were reported in the media and he is on record for obtaining some of the highest settlements ever in Kentucky public employee disputes, particularly violations of the Kentucky Whistleblower Act.
Mr. Sidebottom's practice is certainly not limited though and he brings a diverse experience to any legal challenge that he handles. Some of the practice areas that Mr. Sidebottom handles frequently include employment law issues (both on behalf of employees and employers), Family law (divorce), US Immigration law, Small Business representation, and Business litigation.
Prior to joining Ziegler and Schneider, PSC, as a member, Mr. Sidebottom represented a local School Board for twelve years which gave him valuable insight on the interworking of a public body. To this day, he still advises public office officials from time to time. This vast background of experience has helped Mr. Sidebottom developed into an excellent problem solver focused on finding common sense solutions to his client's legal needs.
Mr. Sidebottom has been very active in the local professional and civic communities. Mr. Sidebottom frequently teaches CLE on topics that include Legal Ethics/Professionalism, Employment and Labor Law, and US immigration law. Mr. Sidebottom maintains a preeminent AV-rating from his peers and has been listed as a Kentucky SuperLawyer in General litigation for the previous five years. He is a past board member of his local bar association (Northern Kentucky Bar Association) and recently served two terms as a Commissioner on the Kentucky Supreme Court's Continuing Legal Education after receiving his appointment in 2009. In 2014, Mr. Sidebottom was appointed by the President of the Kentucky Bar Association to serve as Chair of CLE Programs for the Annual Bar Convention located in Covington, Kentucky. Mr. Sidebottom volunteers pro bono legal service to Northern Kentucky Volunteer Lawyers and is a past board member on the Kentucky Regional Youth Leadership program affiliated with the local Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sidebottom was also elected by his peers as the 2016 President-Elect of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, which a term to serve.
