Overview
Carl D. Edwards, Jr., has been engaged in the private practice of law in Ashland, Kentucky, since 1976. Mr. Edwards attended the University of Kentucky, receiving his B.B.A. Degree at UK's College of Business and Economics in 1973 and his J.D. Degree in 1976. While at the University, he was a member of the Kentucky Law Journal staff and the Order of the Coif. He is currently a member of the Boyd County (past President), Kentucky, Ohio, and American Bar Associations; the Kentucky Defense Counsel (Director 1984-1990, President 1991-1992); the American Association for Justice; the Kentucky Justice Association; and the Kentucky School Board Attorneys' Association.
Mr. Edwards has concentrated his practice almost exclusively in litigation, both in state and federal courtrooms and before governmental administrative agencies. He is licensed and practices in both Kentucky and Ohio and handles a wide variety of major and complex litigation cases, with particular emphasis on malpractice defense, hospital law, personal injury, construction and commercial disputes, industrial and manufacturing issues, products liability, and premises liability. His administrative litigation practice involves the representation of Kentucky employers in contested occupational safety and health matters and in workers' compensation proceedings.
