Attorney Information

Overview

Rob was born and raised in Central Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky for both his undergraduate and law degrees. While in law school, Rob was a member of the UK Law Journal.

Since graduating from law school in 1989, Rob has dedicated his practice to resolving employment disputes for Kentucky employees and employers. Rob handles cases in state and federal courts throughout Kentucky, including a history of successful appellate practice in both state and federal courts, including the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Rob is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Rob has obtained jury verdicts and numerous judgments for businesses and individuals in state and federal courts, including a recent six-figure jury verdict on behalf of a single plaintiff in Richmond, Kentucky, who the jury determined had been terminated in retaliation for becoming injured on the job. Rob takes pride in the fact that he also assists businesses in resolving their employment law issues. By representing both employees and employers, Rob brings a unique, insightful perspective that he zealously uses in the representation of his clients.

Rob has successfully represented both employees and employers in discrimination, whistleblower, and wage and hour cases, both individually and in class and collective actions, including under the Kentucky Civil Rights Act, Title VII, FMLA, and the FLSA.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
