Overview
Bill is admitted to practice law in all state courts in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has briefed and presented oral arguments to the Kentucky Court of Appeals, Kentucky Supreme Court, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Bill is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association (“KBA”) and the Fayette County Bar Association (“FCBA”). He has served as an officer and director of the FCBA (including secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president) and as an officer and director of the FCBA Pro Bono Program, Inc.
Throughout his 40 plus years practicing law, Bill has been involved in an extensive, varied, and diverse civil litigation practice. He has experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal and commercial litigation matters including pre-judgment and post-judgment collection matters, foreclosures, replevins. writs of possession, garnishments, attachments, temporary restraining orders, temporary or permanent injunctions, etc.). Bill has experience in handling adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court, having recently represented a large Kentucky based coal company’s officers and directors in the defense of bankruptcy court adversary proceedings for alleged breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, negligence, and various and sundry other tort based claims.
He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and/or their insurers) in residential and commercial environmental clean-up and remediation claims and has represented claimants in connection with bad faith and unfair claims settlement practices claims. He has also represented plaintiffs in various lender liability claims relating to personal and/or commercial loan transactions.
