Overview
Who I Help
I help Kentucky families who’ve suffered serious injuries or losses – especially in school and daycare incidents, catastrophic vehicle and tractor-trailer crashes, and complex medical malpractice. These cases are hard on good days and overwhelming on bad ones. My role is to steady the process, explain your options in plain English, and fight for a result that helps you rebuild. In almost every case, we’re pursuing the insurance coverage behind the at-fault driver, hospital, or school – not trying to take someone’s personal savings. We make a claim on the policy that exists for exactly this situation, and we hold the insurer to its promises.
How I Work
I build every case like it’s going to trial. That means early investigation, clear timelines, the right experts, and a strategy that’s honest about strengths and weaknesses. If the other side’s insurance company makes a fair offer, we settle. If not, we go to trial. It’s simple, but it’s not easy. Clients get responsive communication and straight talk throughout. Growing up, my grandfather taught me to treat people the way I want to be treated, and I do my best to live up to that every day.
Why This Approach Delivers
Juries respond to credibility and clarity. My results reflect that. At 29, I tried a dental malpractice case by myself and won the highest recorded dental malpractice verdict in Kentucky. But most outcomes aren’t headlines. Because we prepare every case for trial, insurance companies see the risk and pay real value before trial. Many cases resolve confidentially and for significant amounts, often in school injury, trucking, and medical malpractice matters. We keep clients’ details private, use strong experts, and negotiate when the time is right.
Perspective the Defense Respects
After graduating first in my law school class, I began my career defending the same types of cases I file now. I learned how adjusters and defense counsel evaluate exposure, where the pressure points are, and when money really moves. That insight shapes my strategy from day one, helps me anticipate the other side’s arguments, and sets leverage points that move negotiations.
Reputation for Referrals
Most of my work comes by referral. Plaintiff and defense lawyers refer matters to me because they have seen how I work and how I try cases. Former clients recommend me to their circles, and more than once a juror from a prior trial has later hired me for an unrelated issue. That kind of trust is the backbone of my practice.
A Lifelong Louisvillian
I grew up here and never left. I married my college sweetheart, and she’s still my favorite person. We’re raising two awesome kids with help from two very enthusiastic dogs who treat every couch like their own. Our weekends are simple: family time, kids’ practices and games, and a kitchen that never stays clean for long.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
