Prior to the practice before the U.S. Patent Office, Mr. Martin worked for several years in the field of industrial electrical engineering . His industrial experience includes positions as a Quality Improvement Engineer at General Electric Appliance Park responsible for implementation and design improvements to dishwashers and disposal units.

Mr. Martin served as a Process Development Engineer at Phillip Morris, USA including developing and evaluating electrical and electronic controls and training maintenance and engineering personnel in the operation and repair of high speed manufacturing and packaging equipment in areas such as analog circuitry, analog and digital process control circuitry, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, PID loops, digital logic controls, microprocessor controlled equipment, programmable controllers, Class IV industrial lasers; managed the installation, testing and certification of packaging equipment; and provided technical and engineering support to world wide manufacturing operations.
