Attorney Information
Overview
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Miles D. Mussetter is a personal injury attorney driven by a deep commitment to justice and community. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance and Operations & Supply Chain from the nationally ranked Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and began his career in corporate logistics. However, it wasn’t long before he became disillusioned with the industry’s focus on profits over people—a realization that inspired him to return home and pursue a law degree at the University of Louisville with the goal of advocating for those harmed by powerful interests.
Miles launched his legal career at a prominent statewide personal injury firm, where he sharpened his litigation skills across a wide range of cases—including motor vehicle and commercial truck accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, civil rights violations, and insurance bad faith. His efforts helped secure substantial, often life-changing results for clients, including multiple seven-figure recoveries throughout Kentucky and neighboring states, excess jury verdicts, and a multi-million-dollar class action settlement against one of the nation’s largest insurers.
In 2024, Miles and his longtime paralegal and case manager, Cynthia Simpson, joined the Bolus Law Office in an of-counsel role. Since joining Bo Bolus and his seasoned team of trial attorneys, Miles and Cynthia have recovered over $10 million on behalf of their clients, continuing their commitment to results-driven, client-centered advocacy.
For Miles, every case is personal. His passion for the law was shaped early on by his father, David Mussetter, a well-respected trial attorney known for his fearless criminal defense work in Eastern Kentucky. Watching his father fight for clients with dignity, integrity, and resolve left a lasting impression—one that Miles now channels in his own legal practice.
Outside the courtroom, Miles enjoys spending time with his wife, Grace, and their infant daughter, Josephine. He is also an active member of his church and remains deeply rooted in the values of faith and family. With a steady hand and a fierce sense of purpose, Miles is proud to stand up for those who need a voice—and to deliver justice with compassion and conviction.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
