Paul Hershberg Law, PLLC
Louisville General Commercial Litigation Lawyer
Overview
For more than two decades, Paul has represented individuals and small businesses in state and federal courts in a wide range of commercial disputes, simple and complex. Within the realm of general commercial litigation, Paul has extensive experience litigating insurance coverage disputes, including extra-contractual claims, partnership and corporate separations and related claims, construction disputes, and matters of governmental and sovereign immunity. In addition to maintaining an active litigation practice, Paul is regularly retained by other attorneys to assist or lead in appellate cases, from briefing through oral arguments. Paul also provides litigation management in complex matters, including consultation and guidance regarding the storage, preservation, and production of electronically stored information.
At both the trial and appellate levels, Paul is regarded by his peers and the bench as thorough, detail-oriented, prepared, diligent, and fair. Paul has attained the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, been recognized as a Top Lawyer in Louisville on several occasions by Louisville Magazine, and has been selected a Kentucky Super Lawyer in every year since 2010. (Despite the name, this distinction has not positively affected Paul's height, looks, or athletic ability.)
When not working, Paul enjoys acquiring jazz records.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
