Attorney Information

Overview

Brant Legendre is The Townsley Law Firm’s newest attorney, who began his work at TLF in March 2026. A Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native, Brant attended Parkview Baptist High School.

Upon graduating in 2009, Brant received a full-ride scholarship to play football at Northwestern State University. At Northwestern, Brant majored in biology, with the intent of potentially attending medical or dental school.

In his third year in undergrad, however, he had a change of heart. As elective courses, Brant began taking a few law-based classes and discovered his passion for law. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology in December 2013, Brant moved back to Baton Rouge to attend Southern University Law Center.

In law school, Brant was able to use his background in biology to develop effective study habits and test-taking skills. He graduated from law school in May 2017, passing the Louisiana State Bar exam shortly after.

Brant moved to Lake Charles after graduation, where he clerked for Judge David Ritchie at the 14th Judicial District for a year. He then moved on to two more law firms over the next eight years before finally landing at TLF.

At TLF, Brant joined a staff who lives and breathes Lake Charles, a place he now calls home. He loves the environment at TLF and how the firm works as a team. He is working for and with experienced people, which allows him to learn and excel in his practice.

Brant didn’t grow up in a family of attorneys, so his love for the law is unique to him. Growing up, his parents engrained in him and his older brother to pursue a career in something they are passionate about and will work hard in.

His parents have always been supportive of his dreams and taught him the importance of commitment and hard work, something Brant carries with him throughout his career. Not only does he utilize what his parents instilled in him for work, he also uses these lessons to raise his three kids.

Brant and his wife Brittney have a daughter, Harper, and two sons, Easton and Maddox. Brant and his wife take pride in building their family together, setting a good example for their kids. His wife and kids are his inspirations, and they push him to be the best version of himself.

Outside of work, Brant coaches his son’s little league team and frequently volunteers at his kids’ school events. He also loves hunting, fishing and watching sports with his friends and family.

Brant is a dedicated member of the community, who works to fight for justice on behalf of clients. He values the connections that he makes with clients, and at TLF, has the resources and team to right wrongs done to those who have been injured.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
