Overview
Chris LaCombe has been an attorney for The Townsley Law Firm since 2023. TLF has taught him how to be a part of a team, which has allowed him to reach his full potential.
Chris was born and raised in Hayes, Louisiana, and attended Bell City High School. When he was younger, Chris wanted to be a basketball coach, so at McNeese State University, he decided to major in health and human performance education.
At McNeese, Chris was involved in the Rotaract Club, student government, and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. After graduation, he decided to take evening classes at Southern University Law Center to pursue his law degree. At Southern, Chris’ work was rewarded with his selection to the Southern University Law Review.
In 2012, Chris graduated from law school and returned to Lake Charles to practice. After eleven years of personal injury practice, Chris was asked to join The Townsley Law Firm. He was drawn to TLF because of its infectious drive for greatness that seeks the best results for their clients.
At TLF, people are able to trust and rely on each other. Chris enjoys being able to bounce ideas off his colleagues and assist each other on their cases. The standard at TLF is excellence, and this mindset has taught Chris to be unafraid of handling difficult cases and taking them to trial if necessary.
Chris is involved in several organizations in the community. He teaches Sunday school at Trinity Baptist Church and is on the board of the C.S. Lewis Institute where they work to connect pastors and other church members to talk about the author’s ideas. He also serves on the board of the ABC Pregnancy Resource Center.
Outside of the office, Chris stays active. He goes hiking and camping with his three sons, and he enjoys coaching their soccer teams and watching them play. He also loves to watch his daughter dance. Chris loves to read and listen to music in his free time, and his favorite artists include the Turnpike Troubadours.
With his wife, Mary, Chris has four children. His family holds him accountable and inspires him to do great work.
To be a lawyer, having compassion and caring are two of the most important qualities, and Chris embodies both. When clients need help, they can count on him to see it through. Through any setback or adversity, Chris advocates for his clients and represents them to the best of his ability. In his time at TLF, Chris has achieved success for his clients through settlements and mediations.
Chris wants his work to leave a lasting impact on the community, and promote the common good. Through his work with each individual client, Chris hopes he is also making our community a safer and better place to raise our families.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
