Overview
For most of his life, Grant Castillo grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended high school at Bethany Christian School, where he played basketball and baseball. After high school, Grant played baseball for Louisiana State University at Eunice, then Southern University.
Grant’s first dream was to be a baseball coach after watching his dad, David, coach high school basketball growing up. After his playing career ended in 2013, Grant moved to Lake Charles to be an assistant baseball coach at Barbe High School.
Grant coached alongside head coach Glenn Cecchini until 2018, winning three state championships and one national championship during his time there. His coaching career introduced him to Todd Townsley, who hired Grant to run errands at The Townsley Law Firm while he finished school and coached.
In 2016, while coaching at Barbe, Grant enrolled at McNeese State University, majoring in general studies. Determined to pursue a new dream of attending law school, Grant graduated from McNeese in December of 2018.
Grant attended law school at Southern University Law Center. There, he was top of his class and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021. Shortly after graduation, Grant began working for The Townsley Law Firm.
The Townsley Law Firm’s goal is to put the needs of their clients first, make clients feel comfortable, and give them first-class representation. The firm’s culture and team approach have made Grant a better lawyer. His personal experience of his father’s death due to medical malpractice gives him a unique perspective and empathy for the people he represents.
Outside of work, Grant loves spending time with his wife and children, playing golf, and watching football. All of these things help Grant clear his mind and relax.
Grant and his wife, Kaitlin, have two kids, Marie-Louise and David. He is thankful that he is able to make his family proud and continues to excel with their support. Grant is influenced by the mentorship of his dad, David, Glenn Cecchini, and Todd Townsley, who helped him achieve his goals and be in a position to make a positive impact on his client’s lives every day.
Grant works hard and fiercely represents his clients in their time of need. Helping people and having a positive impact with his clients is why he continues to work every day. Grant relies on the competitive mindset and work ethic he developed during his athletic and coaching career to win for his clients.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
