Overview

Precious Anderson experienced first hand how it feels to not be listened to. A lawyer’s job is to make clients feel heard, and at The Townsley Law Firm, Precious has the opportunity to be a compassionate listener and become that voice for people.

Precious grew up in DeQuincy, Louisiana, attending DeQuincy High School. After high school, she went to McNeese to pursue a degree in elementary education. Precious always wanted to be a lawyer but was unsure of the path she wanted to take and knew that she could teach until she decided to make that leap and become an attorney.

She was passionate about math, so after graduating from McNeese, she taught elementary math for five years. In 2020, Precious decided the time was right to pursue her dream. She began law school at Southern University Law Center.

During her second year of law school, Precious was a part of the Southern University Law Review and received several CALI Awards for criminal law, torts one and two, and basic civil procedure. These awards are given to the student with the highest grade in a specific class and represent academic excellence.

She also worked as a teacher’s assistant and a student attorney in the District Attorney’s office, where she participated in two jury trials. She graduated from Southern in 2023.

While she was working at the DA’s office, a judge recommended that she send her application to The Townsley Law Firm. The firm is family oriented and close knit, so Precious thought she would be a great fit. Joining the TLF family in 2024, Precious has felt the freedom and trust necessary to make the best decisions for her clients.

Outside of the office, Precious is the secretary for the Workers Compensation Section. She loves reading romance and science fiction novels and spending time with her kids. Doing these things outside of work helps her decompress.

Precious has two children, Marcus and Benzi. Some of the most influential people in her life were her high school counselor, Cindy, and her pastor’s wife, Louella, who pushed her to be the best version of herself.

Knowing that her clients need her inspires Precious to get to work everyday. Her goal is to make a real and lasting difference in people’s lives. Even when the work gets hard, Precious knows that her team at TLF has her back and is willing to help.

At The Townsley Law Firm, Precious has become an elite member of the team, winning multiple cases for clients across her practice areas. She strives to do excellent work for her clients every day.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
