This gentleman has done everything in his power to get the most out of my cases. He is a hardworking, loving person who wants the best for his clients. I have used mister Bryan's services several times and have not been disappointed.

Contacted Mr Bryan for a divorce settlement and I did most of the leg work with my ex. Mr Bryan never finished my filing and after three years I was quite surprised to find out I was not divorced.when I contacted Mr Bryan to fix my situation...he would only refile if I paid him once again lol....very weak excuse and terrible attuide when I contacted him

Mr. Lowe retained me for a divorce. The parties had reached an agreement regarding custody/support, and my fee reflected that. After the required separation period, the client was sent correspondence stating what would be required to finalize the divorce (affidavits/court costs), but he never paid the court costs. These divorce suits abate (are automatically dismissed) in Louisiana if action isn't taken to have a hearing to finalize in two years. When Mr. Lowe finally contacted me, I agreed to refile his case at no charge to him. However, he refused to pay the court costs charged by the Clerk of Court. I regret that we were not able to satisfy him.

Very good lawyer. He kept me informed every step of the way. Hope I never need a lawyer again, but will call Doug Bryan if I do. I highly recommend.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
