My life was sent into turmoil when my spouse suddenly left our home. They alleged I was abusive to them and to my children, and that the kids were not safe under the same roof as me. It was painful enough knowing I was losing my spouse. The thought that I'd lose time with my children as well made me desperate to find the best representation to stop that from becoming reality. I got a timely consultation with one of the partners at RGH who listened to my situation, asked great questions and demonstrated the kind of empathy I needed at that moment. They explained the relevant parts of state law and how they are applied, their experience with matters similar to mine and what the different options were to work towards the best outcome for my family. I was told how the firm works in terms of cost and logistics, and what my responsibilities would be to help the firm help me. I retained them and worked with Randy Herriott. He always knew exactly what to do and how at each stage of the case. He explained what was happening, what could come next, answered my questions and walked me through whenever I needed guidance. He demonstrated personal concern and reassurance at the most stressful of times, putting my interests at the heart of everything. When needed he would consult with the other partners in the firm about my case, so retaining them means benefitting from the collective knowledge and experience of whom I believe are the best in the business.

I worked with Randy Herriott on a child support and visitation case. I was looking for a bulldog lawyer and I got that in Randy. He was absolutely terrific. I have a very contentious ex and Randy helped explain what was going on, how my ex was manipulating the situation, and what my rights were. He guided me through the different options given my situation. I was very happy to have Randy in court representing me. He presented his case so clearly and thoroughly. I was grateful for his expertise and knowledge. I was able to get what I requested in my court case. If you are looking for a lawyer who will fight for you, I recommend Randy and his firm without hesitation.

We had a difficult child custody case against a difficult father. This team of lawyers led by Paul did everything very professionally. I was always impressed with the angle they would take the conversation between lawyers and with the judge. We had a successful outcome after a two plus year wait. And I would absolutely hands down recommend Paul and anyone on his team. They are true professionals, and they know this area and are local in Annapolis. Highly recommend for family law matters or for advice on any legal assistance.

I used Randy Herriott as my family law attorney for my child custody and support case. He was the second attorney I hired to resolve my family matter, and after my first experience, I could not have chosen a better attorney. His expertise, experience, and professionalism from the beginning were absolutely exceptional. From preparing court documents to preparing for my hearing, to representing my case in court, he did not miss one step. His work is very meticulous, and he operates with a high level of integrity. He will be honest with you about your case from beginning to end which was very important. I would highly recommend Randy if you need a family lawyer, you will not be disappointed.

I had a incredibly positive experience with Reinstein, Glackin& Herriott, LLC in my recent child custody case my attorney is Daniel Renart. Attorney Renart fought hard for me. I was worried that because I’m a make that things could possibly not go in my favor, however with Attorney Renart as my attorney that did not matter, he presented the facts, and evidence in my case in a clear concise manner that there was no doubt on how things would go at the conclusion of my case. The law firm and Attorney Renart are highly regarded and respected by their peers to include lawyers and judges their accolades are very impressive this was a very difficult time in my life Attorney Renart helped me get through it. If you should have a need for a family law firm I would highly recommend Attorney Renart and the Reinstein, Glackin & Herriott, LLC law firm.

I had an incredibly positive experience with Reinstein, Glackin & Herriott, LLC in my recent divorce in Anne Arundel County, MD. Although I'm not one to generally participate in writing reviews, I felt compelled to write an unsolicited review in this instance to express my recommendation for this firm if you are going through a divorce or considering going through a divorce. I specifically worked with Paul Reinstein and his team, all who were excellent, and the experience exceeded my expectations. From the outset, Paul and his team knew my case inside and out including the deadlines, status, decisions, financials, challenges, and opportunities. Unfortunately, I hired another lawyer for the first year of my case, and I regret not retaining Paul from the beginning. That said, Paul was able to dig me out of the many holes my prior lawyer left me in (don't be naive to believe that lawyers are commodities because they absolutely are not). In my initial meeting, Paul knew more about my case (and the law overall) than my prior attorney of greater than a year. The team is brilliant, experienced, thoughtful, responsive, ethical, and willing and able to roll up their sleeves. They are incredibly financially savvy (understanding complex financial aspects such as taxes, investments, marital and non marital property, etc.) and can help recommend ways to save money, find common ground, and get to a resolution. Likewise, the team is the most current on the laws and beyond highly respected by other attorneys and judges. As you can see from their website or many other sites, the team has incredible accolades and accomplishments and is consistently ranked very highly. As you are going through what is likely one of the most difficult times of your life, you will greatly benefit from retaining this firm who will consistently get results, treat you with kindness and dignity, and lead and fight on your behalf. As I wrap up an awful chapter of my life, I'm thankful for Paul, Shelby, Meg, and many others on the team who helped me make good decisions, understand my options, and navigate an endlessly confusing and outdated legal system in Maryland. My absolute respect, appreciation, and recommendation for their expertise, time, and diligence in the resolution of my divorce.

I unequivocally recommend Randall Herriot to anyone needing assistance and representation in a divorce proceeding. After reading excellent reviews online, I contacted Randy to be my attorney in my divorce. I am so glad that I did. He gave me excellent advice all through the process, starting with developing a fair financial settlement and ending with an uncontested divorce judgement. There were some bumps in the road but Randy managed to keep things on track. Divorce is difficult. Hiring the right attorney was the best thing I did.

Maureen was able to apply her vast knowledge of Family Law, mastery of legal proceedings, and her genuine care and concern to my very difficult custody case. I had floundered for 7 years through various petitions and hearings to try to maintain and improve access to my son, and could not find an attorney who would spend the time and care necessary to understand the facts of the matter at hand. Thankfully, I stumbled across a compelling review of Maureen's firm while I searching on the web, and retaining her services was the best decision I ever made. During a time of extreme emotional stress and uncertainty, Maureen was a true savior. She explained the law, was reassuring, articulate, knowledgeable and effective. The outcome was more than I could have ever hoped for. I am eternally grateful to Maureen and her team for what they did for our family.

Randall Herriott has represented me over the past several years during my divorce and a number of child custody issues. His dedication and professionalism to my cases has always been consistent and am grateful for an amazing attorney. He responds to emails in a timely manner, meets to discuss progress of cases, and phone conversations to provide updates and/or discuss matters. Mr. Herriott is an exceptional attorney who will provide all options available, is honest about his professional recommendations, and never waivers at providing the best legal representation to his clients. I have been extremely satisfied with the representation received by Mr. Herriott over the years and would recommend him as an attorney for anyone seeking legal services for a divorce and/or child custody issues.

Randy took on my case with one day to prepare before the hearing. He hit the ground running and was up to speed on even small details necessary to make our case a slam dunk for the sitting judge. I was very impressed with how quickly he honed in on the important details in a long, complicated history with the opposing party. He was also a crack-shot at cross-examining a witness who has been described by professionals as a "master manipulator." Her tactics at misinformation and creating confusion were completely thwarted by Randy's pointed and relevant questions. He was also great at guiding me through my own testimony, keeping me on track to ensure the court was presented with a clear and honest assessment of the situation. I was so relieved to have him in my corner.

It’s been said the most difficult thing to go through in life is dealing with death and divorce, which I found to be true this past year. Hiring Mr. Randell Herriott to represent me was the best decision I made. The anxiety about the unknown subsided and I felt safe with the lawyers of the RHG firm who were by my side. Mr. Herriott representation was professional, skilled, confident, competent, and endlessly knowledgeable in law and strategy. His work ethic yielded to nothing and attention to detail was no match for the vast antics and accusations made towards me. Without fail, Mr. Herriott always brought focus back to the most important issue – my son. His incredibly firm yet compassionate counsel is a rare commodity -- which proved to be fruitful since every motion filed and argument made on my behalf was ruled in my son and I’s favor. There is simply not enough praise to give justice to Mr. Herriott, and the entire RGH firm’s quality of work. As relieved as I am for this chapter to be over, I am sad that regular communication ended. My mother jokingly said Mr. Herriott is now one of the family and cannot get rid of us , and I can confidently say the RGH firm treated me like one of theirs.
How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
