Customer Reviews for Law Office of Arthur L. Drager

Hired Law firm 2022-2023This law firm is a severe disappointment. Our mother selected Drager to handle her estate. He claims 45 years of professional experience. He's disrespectful, wasteful of the estate's money, makes many mistakes, just doesn't know how to communicate, and makes decisions that are not in the best interests of the estate. Some examples are omitting a bank account from an accounting report to the court, paying utilities so late that the power and internet was cut off more than once, and selecting his 'buddies' to perform work eventhough it costs the estate more money. He takes no responsibility for his errors - blaming them on his legal assistant (and anyone but himself) instead... even when he neglected to sign a check that they 'thought' they had already mailed out. It was a month late. In the beginning, my siblings and I were told to give him a roadmap and he would drive. He hasn't done one single thing we laid forth in our road map. He seemed to "collude" with one of our four siblings by keeping her informed but leaving the other three uninformed. The list of his errors is long and cost the estate thousands of dollars. This loss could have been majorly prevented if he had honored the heir's 'road map.' He is not trustworthy and his assistant follows his direction and doesn't seem to mind taking the responsibility for the countless errors. This man is a narcissist who is empowered by the legal system. Our mother didn't ask questions. He told her he would keep her kids from hating each other - they could "hate him" instead. That's one statement he didn't lie about.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
