Mr. Graham co-founded Kramon & Graham, P.A. in 1975 after clerking for a federal judge, working two years at Shearman & Sterling in New York, and serving for three years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Maryland.
Mr. Graham has been included in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 15 years. That publication recognizes him in the areas of Bet-the-Company Litigation, White-Collar Criminal Defense, Commercial Litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution as one of the leading lawyers in Maryland. Chambers USA rated Mr. Graham as one of the best commercial litigators in Maryland for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Chambers lists Mr. Graham, with only six other lawyers, in Band 1 of leading individuals in litigation. And Mr. Graham is listed in Maryland Super Lawyers as one of the State's top 10 attorneys, and was the "Top Point Getter" in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Additionally, Mr. Graham is listed in The Best of the U.S. 2008 Listings in the areas of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration.
Mr. Graham was the Maryland State Chairman of the American College of Trial Lawyers from 1996 to 1998, and has been a Fellow in the College since 1989. He was Chairman of the Ethics 2000 Committee, a committee of the Maryland State Bar Association, from 2001 to 2003, and a member of the committee appointed by the Maryland Court of Appeals to study and recommend changes to the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct. He has held many offices and board and committee positions with the ABA, the FBA, and the Maryland and Baltimore City Bar Associations. Mr. Graham served on several Maryland and federal judicial selection committees and on the Maryland Judicial Selection Commission. He is a former President of the Baltimore Courthouse and Law Museum Foundation, and of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is a founding member of Maryland ADR Services, Inc., a non-profit forum for alternative dispute resolution. He is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. He served recently as the chairperson of the committee appointed by Maryland's federal court to study and recommend changes to that court's rules on attorneys' fees. Mr. Graham has been Chair of Maryland Legal Aid's Equal Justice Council from 2002 to date.
Mr. Graham is frequently invited to lecture on a wide variety of subjects before diverse audiences. He has authored numerous articles and presentations, such as "Basic Principles of Corporate Investigations," "Law Firm Break-Ups: The Need to Consider Divorce Before Marriage," "Repressed Memory or a Vivid Imagination: Are the Courts in Dangerous Waters?," "The Significance of Civility," and "Changes in Maryland's Rules of Professional Conduct on Horizon."
