Overview

Mr. Bourgeois is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in a wide variety of civil, criminal, and administrative cases. Although his practice is focused on commercial litigation, he also regularly represents individuals and companies in matters as varied as business disputes, personal injury claims, intellectual property disputes, civil rights litigation, and criminal and administrative investigations and charges. Mr. Bourgeois also represents lawyers in malpractice and professional responsibility matters.

In each of the last four years, the respected English research publisher Chambers and Partners has identified Mr. Bourgeois in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, as one of Maryland's top commercial litigators. In doing so, Chambers has noted that Mr. Bourgeois' "great reputation with the judges" is widely admired, that he "enjoys the full confidence of the market," that "he has extensive experience of civil and criminal matters," that he "has handled some particularly high profile cases," and that "[h]is satisfied clients would recommend him without hesitation." Mr. Bourgeois is also listed in the 2009 and 2010 editions of Maryland Super Lawyers.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Maryland Lawyers for the Arts, Inc., and of Historic Ships in Baltimore.

Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Bourgeois worked as a human rights officer and assistant director of the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial in Washington, D.C.
