Overview

Jack P. Gates received his Bachelor's Degree from Towson University in May 2007 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in May 2013.

During law school, Mr. Gates worked as a Rule 16 attorney at the University of Maryland Landlord/Tenant Clinic where he represented Baltimore City tenants in legal disputes with property owners. Additionally, Mr. Gates served as a Legal Extern to Delegate Dana M. Stein of Baltimore County during the 2012 Maryland Legislative Session.

After graduating law school, Mr. Gates served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable William V. Tucker in the Circuit Court for Howard County. As a Judicial Law Clerk, Mr. Gates managed a civil litigation docket with a wide variety of cases dealing with family law, including complex divorce matters, custody disputes, alimony, child support, and guardianships. After finishing his Clerkship, Mr. Gates worked for a real estate and land use law firm in Howard County where he focused on property zoning and real estate matters. Mr. Gates joined the Law Office of Kevin L. Beard, P.A. as an Associate Attorney in August 2015.
