Kaylesh Bolla - Columbia, MD

Kaylesh believes that everyone deserves to have their perspective shared. Especially when it comes to family law matters where a breakdown in communication can often lead to unfortunate misunderstandings. It is her belief that as a family law attorney she has an obligation to accurately portray her client's position even when faced with a high conflict family matter. She does not shy away from defending her clients and believes that everyone deserves to have their story told.

FAMILY LAW AS A CAREER

Kaylesh has always gravitated towards helping families and children. She started her career as a high school special education teacher in Brooklyn, New York. Within her first year of teaching, she quickly realized the importance of advocacy. Kaylesh found herself advocating for her students on a daily basis and working with their families to help them obtain additional opportunities and resources within the school system. Throughout her advocacy efforts she started to gain an interest in the legal field and decided to apply to law school. During law school, Kaylesh took courses centered around education and topics that impacted families. She also participated in the Maryland Carey Law's Community and Equity Development Clinic, where she supported various non-profit organizations in Baltimore City. In addition to her clinic work, Kaylesh participated in several internship programs and took on several leadership roles. Kaylesh was selected as a Thurgood Marshall Clerk for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, where she worked with the Advice and Opinions Division. She also interned for the Office of the General Counsel for Montgomery County Public Schools, where she researched the impact of school policies on students and families.

Upon graduation, Kaylesh took a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Robert K. Taylor Jr., at the Baltimore City Circuit Court. As a clerk, she assisted with both civil and criminal law matters. Her experience at the Circuit Court provided her with a strong understanding of how to be a successful litigator. After her clerkship, Kaylesh started working at a family law firm where she assisted with divorce, custody, child support, peace orders, and protective order matters. While at the firm, Kaylesh was able to build a solid understanding of family law matters and gained experience practicing in various counties throughout Maryland.

Kaylesh joined Tracy Miller Law, LLC, in January of 2022, and has assisted Tracy in representing several clients in divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, protective orders, adoptions and many other areas of family law.

EDUCATION

Kaylesh received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). During her time at UMBC, Kaylesh served as the Student Government President, and was a Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar.

Prior to starting law school, Kaylesh was a Teach for America corps member where she taught high school special education in a high needs school district. She was humbled by the opportunity to assist students and their families as they navigated through challenging situations. While completing her commitment with Teach for America, Kaylesh attended Fordham University where she received her Masters in Special Education.

Kaylesh then attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she received the William P. Cunningham award for her "exceptional achievements and service to the school." During this time, she played an active role on Maryland Law's Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and served as the Reception Chair. Kaylesh was also selected as a member of the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender & Class, and her article Maryland's Role in Bridging Language Disparities: Accommodating New Waves of ELL Students was published in the Spring 2018 issue. In her final year, she served as the Co-Symposium Editor for the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender & Class.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Kaylesh is an active member of her temple community and regularly participates in fundraising and expansion efforts for the temple. Kaylesh is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section, and Family & Juvenile Law Section.
