Hired Law firm 2020-2021Nick madiou is extremely lazy, dishonest, lacks any sort of empathy. From day 1, he expressed zero sympathy with regards to my circumstance. I had literally everything taken away from me, and the first thing he did when I spoke to him was he told me that I needed to give up my passport. There was no “Sid, I’m really sorry that you had to endure all that.” You would think, if i’m paying $25000 for his services, and the fact that he lives so close to me (he admitted that I was a neighbor), that he would at the very least be willing to come to my house and do it for me, but instead, he told me (traumatized after what I just endured) to go drive down to the courthouse to surrender my passport myself. And then, fast forward to a few months later, he doesn’t even remember this; let this story illustrate to you how little he actually cares about his clients. And to add insult to injury, he tried to argue with me regarding my citizenship status and told me I was not a United States citizen until I proved it to him (he would have easily been able to verify that I was if he did his job and picked up my passport that day and saw for himself that I am a US citizen. Furthermore, you would think that an attorney would be educated on the Law, which clearly indicates that you can’t be a US Passport holder unless you are a United States citizen. And this is just the beginning. Sadly, I trusted Nick and Michael Lawlor when they told me the extent of the plea agreement and why I should plead to something I did not do in order to avoid jail time. But then, after I had done so, I find out the week before my sentencing that there were additional punishment recommendations imposed by the government. When we called Nick to confront them about it and how I only decided to plead under the agreement that there would be no more than probation, Nick flat out refused to do anything and told us “that’s too bad, nothing I can do.” That is how cold and superficial Nick Madiou is and all he really cares about is your money. He went to Widener University (one of the worst law schools in the country) so he knows he can’t get a job anywhere else, and of all the corrupt and lying attorneys in the nation, Nick falls within the bottom tier of those. The fact that he compelled me to lie under oath should automatically get his law license revoked. In short, Nicholas madiou has absolutely no business representing any client in a legal proceeding and should in fact be prosecuted to the fullest extent by the law. Please be aware that a free federal defender is usually far more qualified than Nick Madiou or Michael Lawlor as they are usually from the likes of Yale University, Harvard university, Stanford University, University of Chicago, and other top tier firms so they know how to argue for you since they are actually educated on the law. I wish Nick Madiou and Michael Lawlor the worst of circumstances ahead.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
