Overview

Mr. Scherr's practice focuses on serious personal injury and wrongful death claims resulting from the negligence of others, including those claims arising out of motor vehicle and motorcycle collisions, defective products, medical and nursing home negligence, premises defect, and industrial (construction) accidents.

Mr. Scherr grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992. While attending Washington University, Mr. Scherr served as an editor on the law review. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Scherr clerked for the Honorable William P. Turner in the Sixth Judicial Circuit for the State of Maryland. Thereafter, Mr. Scherr entered private practice concentrating on the motor vehicle collision and premises liability claims, and related litigation. In 1995, after joining the law firm which is now Futrovsky, Forster and Scherr, Chartered, Mr. Scherr’s practice expanded to include the litigation of products liability, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, police brutality, and industrial (construction) accident claims. In 1998, he was made a shareholder in the firm.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Scherr has successfully litigated hundreds of injury and death claims in the state and federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia, trying many to verdict.

Mr. Scherr routinely receives referrals from other attorneys, including many from attorneys against whom he has litigated cases.
