Overview

A native of Salisbury, A. Gillis Allen, II began his career in 1986 with the Law Firm of Adkins, Potts & Smethurst in which he became a Partner in 1992. In 1995 Mr. Allen and Sally D. Adkins, recently retired from the Court of Appeals of Maryland, formed the Law Firm of Adkins & Allen, LLP which is now known as Allen & Allen, Chtd. Mr. Allen's practice includes corporate and business litigation, appellate litigation, complex estate planning, estate administration, commercial transactions, and corporate law.

Mr. Allen has been active in Bar, civic and community affairs throughout his career. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Salisbury School, Senior Warden of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, legal counsel for The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, and as a member of the Court of Appeals Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. Mr. Allen is also a member of the Salisbury Rotary Club and the Greater Salisbury Committee.
