Overview

Monica Meyers is a personal injury attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals who have been harmed through no fault of their own. She focuses her practice on helping clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives and works tirelessly to secure the compensation and justice they deserve.

Monica earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary, where she double majored in Sociology and Philosophy. She went on to complete her MBA at William & Mary before attending the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she concentrated in Trial Practice and Advocacy. Following law school, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the District Court Judges of Prince George’s County.

Monica brings a powerful and well-rounded litigation background to her personal injury practice. She has extensive courtroom experience representing clients in District Court, Circuit Court, and Federal Court, as well as before the Maryland Board for Administrative Hearings. Her time in both private practice and public service has shaped her into a skilled advocate who is comfortable handling complex, high-stakes cases.

Before focusing exclusively on personal injury, Monica served in the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she handled serious and sensitive cases involving violence and significant injury. She also led specialized investigations and worked closely with law enforcement, giving her valuable insight into how cases are built, evaluated, and challenged, experience she now leverages to benefit her injury clients.

Monica has been recognized for her dedication and excellence in the courtroom, receiving honors from both the State’s Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office for her work on complex cases.

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Monica is committed to serving clients from all backgrounds. She takes pride in building strong relationships with her clients and ensuring they feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the legal process.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
